Woodfibre LNG boosts online presence to help answer community questions

Woodfibre LNG Limited today launched askwoodfibrelng.ca, an interactive website allowing people in the community to get answers to questions they may have about the Woodfibre LNG Project. People can do this anytime, using a computer, tablet or a mobile phone. In addition to this Q&A website, Woodfibre LNG continues to open new channels to keep the conversation going with the community, by launching the Woodfibre LNG YouTube Channel.

Monday, March 23, 2015, marked the close of the Public Comment Period for Woodfibre LNG’s Environmental Assessment Certificate (EAC) Application. Woodfibre LNG decided to boost their online presence to help keep the conversation going as the project moves forward. “We know from the conversations we are having each and every day that people in the community are interested in our Project. Askwoodfibrelng.ca is another important way we are staying connected to the community and keeping that conversation going,” said Byng Giraud, Vice President, Corporate Affairs.

Askwoodfibrelng.ca is a place to:

  • Submit a question to the Woodfibre LNG team
  • Review existing questions and answers about the Project
  • Hear directly from the Project team on the issues that are important to you

The Woodfibre LNG YouTube Channel will be updated regularly, providing the community with:

  • Project information videos
  • Comments and questions from community members
  • Insights from industry experts

The Woodfibre LNG Project is a proposed small-scale natural gas liquefaction and export facility located at the former Woodfibre Pulp and Paper Mill, approximately seven kilometres southwest of Squamish.

Since the Project began in 2013, Woodfibre LNG team members have participated in seven Open Houses, 10 small group meetings, and 10 stakeholder meetings as part of three rounds of formal public consultation. Woodfibre LNG has also held more than 300 stakeholder meetings and two telephone town halls as part of their own community consultation program, and opened a community office in Squamish.
