The Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) has accepted Woodfibre LNG’s request to extend the Public Comment Period for the proposed Project, meaning members of the public now have more time to have their say. The Public Comment Period has been extended by the EAO to 60 days from the initial 46 days, meaning people can now post questions or comments until March 23, 2015. Woodfibre LNG Limited made the request for this extension after hearing a desire on the part of the community to have more time to review and comment on their Environmental Assessment Certificate (EAC) Application. “At Woodfibre LNG Limited, we are committed to building a Project that is right for Squamish and right for BC, and this includes listening to the community and acting on their priorities,” said Byng Giraud, Vice President, Corporate Affairs.
“When we heard from members of the community that they wanted more time to review our EAC Application, we were happy to raise the issue. Today, the EAO approved our request.” As part of the Public Comment Period, members of the Woodfibre LNG Limited team have met with more than 400 people at three EAO Open Houses, which were held in Squamish, West Vancouver and on Bowen Island. These Open Houses took place from January 28 to 30, 2015, and were an opportunity for Woodfibre LNG to share information about our proposed Project, and to answer questions from the community.
